This was the long unreleased game prototype I made for the loading screen of Tsunderia vtuber, Amiya Aranha.

I didn't want to go through simulating a prototype in Adobe Animate so I decided to just whip up a game in Construct since it's been a long time since I tried working on the back end of game development. In the end, I think I spent about as much time working on the prototype as I would have if I simulated things in Animate.

Being able to play a clunky game is better though... right?

NOTES

There are no fail states here and no win states either. You can get damaged by the Ura slugs or the birds, but the pickles? They do nothing. The web shot only works on certain surfaces but works VERY badly. There were severe limitations to the code I borrowed and modified.

If I were to work on this again, I'd likely do so in Unity where there's I can likely implement better swing physics. Still, this did the job it was supposed to do.

CONTROLS

  • WASD to move
  • Space to jump
  • LMB to shoot web, LMB again to release
  • ESC to reset
